Skin Care Routine

Feel free to check out the full video above!

Otherwise keep reading to get an insight into my skin care routine and the products that I used that have helped clear up my break outs!

About my skin:
When I was a teen I never had break outs, I had the odd spot here and there but nothing crazy. In fact my skin was on the dryer side. Click here to see my top tips on dry skin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-khL4aZXzk)

However the older I got the worse my skin seemed to get. I was covered in spots, blemishes, pimples!!! Seemed like one would clear up and another two would replace it! I tried every thing - All the odd home recipes, the kitty litter mask, lemon and sugar treatment but NOTHING WORKED!

Finally I stopped with all the quick fixes and just used the same products every night and every morning and my skin is getting better and better!
The products I used might not work for you, but finding the right skin care routine will.

Cleanser - Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash
I use this at night to remove my make-up (one pump) and to also clean my skin (second pump). I don’t use this every morning as I don’t want to over wash my skin. Even though I used to take my make-up off at night I didn’t clean my skin too. So now I not only remove my make-up but I wash my face afterwards. I can’t stress enough how important it is to remove your make-up at night Just by doing that you will notice a difference!

Scrub - Simple Smoothing Facial Scrub
I use this once a week or twice if I notice a huge problem. Mostly once does the trick and I will stick to that. Exfoliating is great and feels great too but you have to be careful not to over do it. Especially if you have spots, if you keep disturbing the healing of the spots they will last longer!

Toner - Witch Hazel and Rose Water
This is my favourite part of my routine! I use my toner once in the morning instead of cleansing my skin and once at night after cleansing and I love this stuff! If you are looking for a good toner try looking in the health care and vitamin section of the pharmacy. Witch Hazel and Rose Water are natural extracts that not only remove any oils or dirt felt after cleansing the skin, but it leaves it super smooth and soft too!

Moisturiser - Nivea Soft Moisturiser
This is my favourite ever moisturiser I have tried. I love this more then any other product - high end or low this is the best! I highly recommend this! Seriously!!

1 Pigtail 1 Braid

To give a little history of this hair style you must understand that I would have never created a style that is one braid one pigtail.  This style is all designed by the 4 year old who has wore this style for about 2 weeks straight.  I finally decided I had better share this with everyone.  Some of you moms out there might just understand what its like to have a spunky daughter like mine.

I first made a small center poof.  I used the bobbie pin that you can see below to give her thin hair an actual poof look.  Then we split the poof hair and made 2 pigtails.
She always picked which side was the braid and which one was the ponytail.
I finished off the ponytail by putting ringlets.

Easter Hair

Katherine took this picture of her daughters Easter outfit and put it in a photo contest on Parent Magazine's website. Everyone Please go vote for her?

Katherine sent this cute Easter hairstyle into me and I wanted to share it with everyone.  She tried to make a cross. She used the technique she learned from me where you make the ponytail gathered into another ponytail. She made one small ponytail at the top of her head, then split it to two other ponytails. She made a diagram to show how she did it. The diagram is below.

She then wrapped each line with ribbon. She wrote "But as you can see in the picture, it's hard to make out a cross. So I just put pink and blue clips at the corners and it came out alright. I think next time I try this, I'd put the ponytails farther from each other."

I think she did an amazing job and I can see the cross.  I will have to try this on my daughter too!

Sides Up into Outie Braid

On this style you are going to make an outie braid rather than a flat braid.
I wanted the braid to pop out.
In order to get an out braid rather than a flat braid you cross the hair under instead of over.
I started the braid on her left side and braided her bangs back and continued to frenchbraid until all her sides were pulled into the braid.  Finish braiding the hair to the ends.

The right side is much easier I only frenchbraided it for about 3 crossovers then continue the braid all the way to meet the other braid.  Secure in the middle of her head with an elastic.

Ravishing Red

Not all brides-to-be opt for their own natural color. In addition to golden highlights, shades of red are also becoming popular. For those who like to think outside of the box, here's a style worn by actress Selita Ebanks.
